Promotions Tool is a robust web-based application for creating, scheduling, & validating promotions. It supports coupon creation & reporting.
My Role
Senior Manager, Product Design & UX: Directed strategy, research, and design execution, partnering with Product, Site Administration, Promo Teams, and third-party Development to deliver a scalable, omni-channel solution that eliminated manual workflows and aligned promotions management with enterprise growth goals.
Challenge
The legacy promotions tool (CSR) lacked functionality to meet business needs:
- Could not support omni-channel promotions, requiring duplicate work by channel
- No templates, re-use, or self-service options for teams
- Reliance on Excel uploads and Slack scripts for promo creation
- Manual error handling, reporting, and approvals spread across multiple tools (Jira, Slack, spreadsheets)
- High dependency on site administration; promo teams had limited autonomy
This resulted in inefficiency, errors, and slow time-to-market for promotions.

Strategy & Leadership
I drove the initiative on a compressed timeline, ensuring alignment across newly formed product, design, and development teams:
- Discovery & Future State Mapping: Led workshops and observation sessions with promo teams and site administration to capture workflows, expose inefficiencies, and define the target state.
- Vision & Alignment: Built consensus on a future-state model that empowered promo teams, clarified roles, and reduced dependencies.
- Design Acceleration: Delivered a framework and UI guide within 3 weeks, enabling development to begin while design advanced in parallel.
- Iterative Delivery: Produced high-fidelity designs in sprints, refining continuously based on evolving priorities, feasibility, and business input.
- Governance & Standards: Established a Material UI–based style guide to ensure consistency, scalability, and vendor alignment.

- High-Fidelity Execution: Delivered enterprise-grade UI aligned with Google Material standards and NMG branding.
